Bon Voyage!

I have officially shipped off!  The MV Explorer, my home for the next 4 months, set said from the St. Lawrence River in Montreal around 5:00pm yesterday (August 26).  Starting this trip with a broken finger hasn’t been the easiest way to start an international voyage, but the staff members have been extremely helpful with helping me carry my luggage and get all organized!  Classes start tomorrow on the ship.  Life has been flying by so quickly we all forget that we are actually here to take classes and not just venture around the world!

I will be sailing across the Atlantic Ocean for a week, and will arrive in Morocco next Saturday!  My roommate and I have been planning out our trips that we will take (she is from Butler University, and pretty awesome!) and we have a mind-blowing itinerary laid out for us.  First, we will be catching a train to Marrakech and going to the spa where they filmed Sex in the City 2!  (Rose, don’t worry I will take lots of pictures!).  After, we will hit up some markets and hopefully find the spice market from the movie too.  Although I love being able to look out my window and see the waves gliding by as we make our way to Africa, I am anxiously curious to see what the port has in store for me.

I miss everyone back home and I hope you all are having a fabulous time at Berkeley or wherever else you may be!  Love you all!  Adios from the Atlantic!
